As you all are quite aware, Runner's World has upgraded the forum software (Pluck 4.0). This affects me greatly as the 2010in2010 Club Administrator, as I rely heavily on the forums to gather and publish the members' running data.
While there are a few new features, there are some significant losses in functionality and performance. Key among these is having lost the ability to track key threads for this Club, especially those like the "Nag List" that I recycle and the Weekly Post 'Em threads. I also try to follow the team threads and stay up-to-date on any problems or questions you all have. There are also contest threads and some of last year's Club threads that I reference as well. I probably had over 30 threads saved that are now inaccessible.
Additionally, I am finding it cumbersome to use the "Reply" and "Start a New Discussion" functions there since the input forms are all bungled up (see my reply to Kevin in the RW.com forum).
The bottom line is this: If these issues are not resolved in one week (which was Kevin Knabe's suggestion for the length of time that we allow to get used to the upgrade), I will be leaving the RWOL forums and will be resigning my role as 2010in2010 Club Admin.
If anyone has suggestions on how we can continue the Club outside this forum, I will be more than happy to investigate them. I will update the 2010in2010 Blog with as much information as possible for your use. [An aside: I am looking at the possibility of porting the entire Club - including posting miles and reporting all results - RIGHT HERE IN THE BLOG].
I hope I don't have to leave, but life is too short to be dealing with this. I am really proud of what the Club has become and am glad that it has been a source of inspiration and camaraderie for you all.
With Regards,
Glenn
